I first stumbled upon his music a couple of years ago when a friend sent me 'Cowardly Custard' from his 2007 album 'Bombsell'. I was pleasantly surprised and the next day bought two of his albums. A couple of days after that I read he was nominated for the next days Mercury Music Prize - he seemed to be everywhere - and a day later I was lucky enough to see him at the Grand Ole Opry in Glasgow. A very quick introduction to King Creosote.
In the years since I have to admit I haven't given his music the attention it deserves. Often the struggle to find much of his music can be of putting. It was only until his 2013 album 'It Might Well Be It, Darling' when I came to fully appreciate his genius. And it was a certain song 'Doubles Underneath' which for me is one of his finest moments. The album it's self is up there with his best work too.
